Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Ontario.

Mount Sinai Hospital
Talbot Consultants International Inc. was retained by G+G Partnership Architects on behalf of Mount Sinai Hospital to provide a Preliminary Assessment as to the feasibility of re-developing the commercial food & beverage, retail and services components of the hospital. The overall goal was to provide a preliminary analysis as to the potential for enhancing the branding image and profitability of Mount Sinai Hospital by creating an attractive, exciting and vibrant food & beverage, retail & services destination for the patients, visitors & employees. The project was carried out by Talbot Consultants with the assistance of Cini¨Little International Inc. (acting as our sub-consultants for the specialist food & beverage components). Our study analysed the surrounding existing & projected employment and residential population bases and the existing & proposed competition. We then projected the amount of retail and food & beverage space that could be supported and specified store mix, sizing and "banner". Then, through a series of interactive workshops with G+G Partnership Architects and the client, we examined a range of viable configurations. Finally, we recommended an option that would not only meet the client's operational requirements but also satisfy the "wants & needs" of the patients, visitors & employees as well as generating the highest retail, food & beverage and services revenues to the hospital.
