Talbot Consultants International Inc. was retained to carry out a feasibility study, target tenant profile, re-zoning support document, and a market impact analysis for the development of a 35 acre Power Centre based on Price Club and Aikenhead's as the two Power Anchors. Our studies were successfully utilised in the re-zoning process and the settlement of a potential OMB appeal. We were then retained to carry out a detailed merchandising study and to produce a qualified prospect “hit list”. Our completed studies were later utilised in the sale of the property to Beutel Goodman. Our merchandising study was utilised by the new owners in the leasing process for those tenants that we identified for the balance of the site. The centre opened 100% leased on budget and on schedule and is extremely successful. It is often cited as the first planned true Power Centre in Canada.
